CATEGORIZAÇÃO FUNCIONAL DOS MACROINVERTEBRADOS BENTÔNICOS EM QUATRO ECOSSISTEMAS LÓTICOS SOB INFLUÊNCIA DAS ATIVIDADES DE UMA MINERAÇÃO DE BAUXITA NA AMAZÔNIA CENTRAL (BRASIL)

The aim of this research was to investigate the functional feeding groups (shredders, collectors, grazer-scrapers and predators) of benthic macroinvertebrate communities of "igarapés" Saracá, Caranã, Água Fria and a section of Trombetas river influenced by the activities of a bauxite mine in Porto Trombetas, Pará, Brazil (1°25' and 1°35' S and 56°15' and 56°25' W). The samples were taken on dry and rainy seasons of the years 1994 and 1995 on three sample stations in each ecosystem. The results obtained contribute for the best knowledgement of benthic macroinvertebrate community structure on those four ecosystems.O objetivo desta pesquisa foi estudar a categorização funcional em guildas tróficas (fragmentadores, coletores, raspadores e predadores) das comunidades de macroinvertebrados bentônicos nos igarapés Saracá, Caranã, Água Fria e um trecho do rio Trombetas sob influência das atividades de uma mineração de bauxita em Porto Trombetas, Pará (1°25' e 1°35' S e 56°15' e 56°25' W). As amostragens foram realizadas nos períodos de chuvas e seca dos anos de 1994 e 1995 em três estações amostrais em cada ecossistema. Os resultados obtidos contribuem para o melhor entendi­mento dos padrões de estrutura das comunidades de macroinvertebrados bentônicos nos quatro ecossistemas estudados
